Inazria Player’s Guide

Welcome! This is the living player’s guide for Inazria: an adventure in the world of Azergad built by me, Erick Johnson. This guide should contain everything a traveler needs before setting foot on Azergad, but will be constantly updated as I continue to add and properly adapt content into the game.

This project has been in the works since 2018. It initially started as just a ‘splattering’ of ideas for how I could create my own fantasy world-building content to play with friends (something that 9-year-old me had been doing all along in 3.5e, but I’ll spare you from those rough designs). It’s not that there’s anything wrong with regular D&D, you know, but theres something about a ruleset + established lore built for the masses that’s always felt a bit too… generic? I suppose, moreso, that I realized telling my own stories will be easiest in my own setting after all.

This game is an actively updated WIP. The game is built on the core D&D 5.1e ruleset under the OGL and Creative Commons licenses. In the event that the rules must be clarified due to Inazria’s inadequate writing, defer to the 5.1e ruleset for guidance.

Getting Started

  • Classes — Take a look at Inazria’s unique take on the old-school class structure. Instead of classes and subclasses, here you’ll find frameworks for characters (still called classes) with 4 unique contexts a piece. A context is the realization of a class idea brought forth organically in Inazria’s settings.
  • Races — The peoples of Azergad. Inazria itself is primarily home to the Humans, but the Realms of Bisengal, Zilwunbar, the Kystrilands, the Violet Sea, Avarazhan and Azelliot are each inhabited by their own native races of men.
  • Spells — A complete spell lists and descriptions used by Inazria’s casters (work in progress!)
  • Rules — An index page of rules articles. The plan is to add/modify existing rules to better fit the Inazria setting when necessary. If you are looking for something specific that isn’t addressed here, consult the 5.1e SRD rules.
  • Lore — Available knowledge on the Realms, the Pact, geography, etc. Check back for regular updates as I continue writing.
  • Speaking Like an Azergadling

Inazria is built on the D&D 5.1 System Reference Document. Material adapted from that document is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. The setting’s own races, classes, and lore are original to Inazria. Full attribution is on the Legal page.
